Jazz great Marty Morrel dropped me a line from Tokyo where he is working with the Duke Ellington band as well as Japanese pianist Takana Miyamoto. Marty writes...I am so honored to play with this band. Gotta tell ya that we are killin' it here in Tokyo. Next Sunday, I will rehearse with Takana in Yuki, Japan, her home town. We have 4 Bill Evans tribute concerts after I finish with Ellington. Life is good. 'Best. Marty
