Mark Simmons/Al Jarrreau update

Bosphorus artist reports from his travels with Al Jarreau: The new approach for Al's set is being taken from the earlier records such as "Look to the Rainbow," and "Al Jarreau Live in Berlin. " If you're familiar with those records, that music was played with more of a jazz sensibility, using a lot of space and color. To play this type of music I had to change my set up. I'm going with smaller drums and some new cymbals. My setup is 13" Antique hats, an 18" paper thin Antique, a 9" Traditional splash, a Gold 17" Fast Crash, an Attique 22' thin ride and a New Orleans 20. My Bosphorus cymbals compliment Al's new (old) approach perfectly.

Bosphorus Welcomes Marcio Bahia

Bosphorus is proud of our new association with Brazilian artist Marcio Bahia. Marcio is one of the most important drummers and educators in Latin America. He lives in Rio de Janeiro and works with Brazilian legend Hermeto Paschcoal.

To call David Kemper a great musician is an understatement. In addition to having worked with legends like Bob Dylan, T-Bone Burnett, Jerry Garcia and countless LA sessions, he's also an accomplished painter. Daniel Glass Clinic Video

The much talked about PASIC clinic with Bosphorus artist Daniel Glass and Zoro (Sabian) is now available in its entirety on the Vic Firth website. Culled from their new book, "The Commandments of Early Rhythm and Blues" these artists demonstrate some of the most important grooves and credit the drummers who helped shaped rock and roll. Daniel will also be featured at this year's 20th edition of the Modern Drummer Festival on May 22nd in Montclair, NY.
